Downloading and Installing

Step 1: Download the VPN client and RDP link from the link emailed to you (2 Files)

Step 2: Install and run the VPN for the first time (Please Watch Video Walkthrough Below):

Step 3: Run the application for the first time, this involves entering specific credentials in two locations for the first run of the application: (Please Watch Video Walkthrough Below for further details):

  • Usernames for RDP (First run of the Application): Same as the Above but prefixed with the domain name i.e. thisplanet\"youracronym"

Step 4: Log In To the Venus application with the credentials provided

Step 5: Map Access to your accounting folder on the hosted server

Right click on the “This PC” icon in your file manager and select “Map Network Drive” (ensure the VPN is switched on prior to this step)

Enter the following Folder into the Folder prompt \\Dragon\Accounting-"youracronym"$ to link your accounting folder as a folder in your file manager/browser, select any Drive letter that you like. And tick reconnect at sign in.

Setting Up Your Database 

To configure your database ready for population, the below video is Essential viewing, the knowledgebase holds further detail on each and every topic raised in the video, so best practice is to pause the video at points where you need further clarification and utilise the knowledgebase to step through the required process' and resume the video once completed.
