A roster can be split across two pay rates.
We recommend splitting a shift when Payroll is confirming timesheets.
The details of which shifts can be split and how they should be split are setup in Data Entry > Types > Split Shifts. Only shifts that have been setup as spilt shifts can be split.
When a shift is split, both parts of the shift are joined, have the same ID number and are a different colour to other roster entries.
Both parts of a split shift must be Timesheet Confirmed.
When timesheet confirming a shift that meets the split shift criteria and it has not been split, Venus will ask if the shift should be split.
The Split Shift Types tab records how and when to split a shift when two different pay and charge rates need to be applied to a single shift. The screen shot below shows Split Shift Types that will be splittable (on the left), and the shift type that it will be split into (on the right) at which default time of day.
