Data Entry > Types > Departments
The Departments tab records departments, wards or locations for your Hospitals and Clients.
Departments are also used to record a Nurse’s areas of experience or specialisation.
Department – Cancellations
There are three “Cancel Department Types” in Venus -
- Cancel - Hospital
- Cancel - Nurse
- Cancellation
The Cancel Department Types are protected from being deleted because they are used to record cancelled shifts. Shift cancellations are reported in the Cancellation Report.
Adding a Department Type
To add a Department Type –
- Select Insert on the toolbar.
- Sort Order – The order the Departments will appear in the drop-down menus.
- Department Type – The Department name.
- Abbreviation – Abbreviation of the department name.
- The information is saved when you leave the tab.
Editing a Department Type
To edit a Department Type -
- Highlight the Department Type to be edited.
- Overtype as required.
- The information is saved when you leave the tab.
Deleting a Department Type
You can only delete a Department that has not been allocated to a Nurse.
To delete a Department Type -
- Highlight the Department Type to be deleted.
- Select Delete on the toolbar.
