Getting Started
Venus Connect II has been developed as a Progressive Web App it now offers consistency across platforms, greater user friendliness, is easy to access and light on storage.
Setting up staff to receive Messages via Venus Connect
In Web -> Web User Nurse Setup you can change the individual staff members option to ‘Send SMS messages to App’ or not. This refers to sending to Venus Connect. If the box is unticked it will send a standard SMS to the staff mobile number stored in their profile.
Nurse / Staff
Go to the Nurse / Staff tab at the top of your screen then Nurse / Staff.
Choose the nurse or staff member the SMS tab. This SMS log will always be available.
Click Instant SMS if you would like to send an SMS.
Shifts/Roster
You can also send an SMS from the Shifts –> Roster Screen
When you have opened the roster screen choose the appropriate roster the right click on SMS Roster Details.
Once in the SMS Manager screen, check and edit the message if you wish then click Send.
If you have chosen to send messages through Venus Connect for the staff member and they don’t have push notifications enabled you will get an alert message as below.
Staff View
The nurse / staff member will then get push notifications and see the messages as below once they have logged on to the new Venus Connect and subscribed to Push Notifications.
Viewing Replies
Staff replies can always be viewed in the Nurse -> Nurse -> SMS SMS log as shown earlier.
Replies can also be set up to be received by email or phone. First in Data Entry -> SMS Setup
Also in SMS -> SMS Settings you can switch between receiving by email or phone.
Transitioning and getting staff started
- We recommend that all users uninstall the old app. The old app will likely not work.
- Staff can open the browser on their phone and go to:

- Staff can log in with the same username and password that they currently use for Venus.
- Staff will need to subscribe to push notifications when logged in.
- Staff can add to link to their home screen for easy access
- The following help page will be available, will also be linked from the app. This contains information about how to install the app to the phones home screen so that staff can use it like a regular app.
