Patient > Notes
The Notes tab allows you to enter multiple free text notes on each Patient. Each note can contain up to 5000 characters.
The note type allows you to identify the type of note entered e.g. customer feedback, general, telephone call.
Nurse notes can be linked to a Hospital and or a Nurse. A copy of the note will be displayed in the Hospital and Nurse notes tabs.
The Note Summary will be displayed on the Nurse Summary tab when the Summary Tab box is ticked.
The Sort Order determines the order the note appears on the Note and Summary tab. Sort Order 1 will position the note at the top of the list.
Adding a Note
To add a Note to a Patient –
- Select Insert on the Notes tab.
- The Edit Notes screen will appear.
- Note Type – Select the type of note being created.
- Sort Order – Determines the order the notes are displayed on the Note and Summary tabs.
- Summary Tab – Tick this box for the note summary to be displayed on the Summary tab.
- Summary – A summary of the note. This is displayed on the Summary tab if the Summary Tab box is ticked.
- Hospital and Nurse – Link and display the note against a Hospital and or a Nurse, where required.
- Note – Type or paste note.
- OK – To save and exit.
- Cancel – To exit without saving.
When a note is created the following fields are created by Venus –
Timestamp – The date and time the note was originally created.
Create User – The User Name of the user who created the note.
When a note is updated the following fields are updated by Venus –
Last Updated – The date and time the note was last updated.
User – The User Name of the person who last updated the note.
Editing a Note
To edit a Note -
- Highlight the note to be edited.
- Select Edit on the Notes tab.
- Update the note as required.
- OK – To save and exit.
- Cancel – To exit without saving.
Deleting a Note
To delete a Note -
- Highlight the note to be deleted.
- Select Delete.
Searching Notes
Venus will search all notes recorded for the Patient and will display the notes that include the text typed in the Search field. The number of notes that meet the search text, against the total number of notes is also displayed.
